Nigel Farage invests in British Bitcoin asset company Stack/n
British Reform Party leader Nigel Farage invested 215,000 pounds ($286,000) in a financing round of Stack BTC (STAK). This UK-listed Bitcoin asset company also received participation from Blockchain.com in this round of financing.
The company said on Monday it raised 260,000 pounds by selling 5.2 million new shares at 5 pence each. The new shares are expected to begin trading on the Aquis Growth Market on Thursday.
Farage invests through his company Thorn In The Side Ltd. and will hold 6.31% of Stack's shares after the new share issuance.
Farage said he has long supported Bitcoin and believes the UK should position itself as the center of the global cryptocurrency industry.
The Reform Party is leading the polls and is trying to win over crypto voters by accepting cryptocurrency donations.
"I have long been one of the UK's few political advocates for Bitcoin," he said in a statement, adding that London should continue to strengthen its role as a center for financial innovation.
