Bitcoin’s daily transaction volume approaches 900,000, the fourth highest record in history

On September 7, 2026, the Bitcoin network’s daily transaction volume climbed to the fourth highest level in history. This peak was monitored and confirmed by Galaxy Research, marking a significant jump in the intensity of on-chain activity.
Data compiled by Woofun AI shows that the total number of confirmed transactions for the day reached 893,391. In terms of activity, the proportion of active addresses exceeded 99%, and transaction activity increased by 23.4% compared with the previous period. In some periods, the increase was even as high as 102.6%. From a structural point of view, this surge is not evenly distributed, but shows a high degree of concentration.
Looking back at historical benchmarks, Bitcoin daily transaction volume was 862,979 transactions on April 23, 2024, of which 651,655 transactions occurred daily, an increase of 18% year-on-year. Total trading volume for the same day was 927,010, of which 910,083 were daily transactions.
It is worth noting that the proportion of small-amount transfers with a value less than 0.01 BTC is still 80%, indicating that high-frequency interactions at the micro level are still the main source of network load.
In terms of network costs and ecological status, Blockchain.com shows that the number of active addresses has dropped by 10.7% and is currently about 415,000. Related fees totaled $3.38 billion, of which 8.1% were fees, amounting to $191,073. The average fee is about 0.0000024 BTC, which corresponds to about $0.19, and the average fee per transaction is $34.69.
